Do you recruit anyone other than anesthesiologists or CRNAs? What about other healthcare professionals?
We recruit anesthesiologists and CRNAs exclusively. There are numerous recruitment firms focusing on other healthcare professionals, and they can easily be found on the web or even your yellow pages. Our goal is to specialize in serving the needs of this underserved segment of the market.

If I don’t want to submit my resume on line, can I still get a recruiter?
Yes. Call Us toll-free 1-888-866-7024 or at (973)706-7822

Do you require an in-person interview?
No, we only require a telephone interview, along with your resume and job requirements. However, all of the employers with whom we work do require an in-person interview as the last stage of their hiring process. Some employers may pay interview-related travel expenses for professionals who do not live in their area and want to relocate there.

Will you show resumes or CVs to employers as soon as you get them?
No. Your resume may be visible, without your name and contact information, to employers who search our database, but relatively few of our employers search this way. Instead, they wait for us to make a recommendation to them. We will always call you on the telephone to talk about your job search before we actively search for employers on your behalf. Once we have a good idea of your goals, we will contact potential employers to see whether they need someone like you. If they do, we will then contact you to get your OK before we actually give the employer your full resume with your name and contact information. That’s why it’s important to stay in touch at all times until you’ve actually agreed to take a job from a specific employer.

Do you conduct recruiting at job fairs?
Yes, we do visit job fairs, though they are not one of our major channels for reaching candidates.
|
Do you recruit from outside the United States?
Though we are focused on US-based anesthesiologists and CRNAs, we can recruit overseas professionals at the request of the employer. In fact, we have an alliance with a recruiter in the UK, which allows us to bring candidates from Ireland, South Africa, and India. Unfortunately, we cannot accept resumes from anyone not based in the US.

Do you work for the hospitals or the candidates? What’s the difference between you and the hospital’s own recruiters and HR people?
We work for both the potential employers and the candidates. An in-house recruiter or HR fills a job opening as efficiently and as quickly as possible. Once the job opening is filled, he or she can safely file and forget all the other resumes he or she has collected. The recruiters at American Healthcare work for both the candidates and the potential employers, so we take the needs of both into account. If we arrange for an interview between an employer and a candidate, and it doesn’t work out, we still keep working with both the candidate and the employer separately to help each one find someone else to meet their needs. Because of this, we do not have such a great incentive to pressure either the candidates or the employers to go with the first option we present. We consult in-depth with both parties to make sure each has the best fit possible.

Why should employers work with recruiters rather than their own HR departments, or even just post a job on some web jobs database? If you are working for the candidates as well as the employers, doesn’t that mean you aren’t totally committed to the potential employers?
Because we take the side of the candidates as well as that of the employers, CRNAs and anesthesiologists can feel comfortable confiding all information relating to their job preferences, including information that they might be uncomfortable telling their future employers or someone who works for the employer and only the employer. The classic example of this is salary. The best candidates want to be paid the best, but they do not want to look like they are overly focused on money. So, if a potential employer’s opening salary offer does not meet expectations, the candidate might simply quietly cut off negotiations, citing other reasons, and go look for a job with a freer-spending employer. By acting as the candidates’ representatives in salary negotiations with potential employers, we are not simply out to get the candidates more money. We are also making sure employers know when they are about to lose out on a potentially great hire because of money. Employers who cannot offer a higher salary in such a situation might try to put together a better benefits package based on the recruiter’s knowledge of the candidate’s priorities regarding benefits and quality of life. It’s the kind of tailor-made recruitment that no in-house recruitment can offer, precisely because we are not seen as being loyal solely to the employer. As for internet jobs databases and other jobs posting services, we do not even consider them competitors. We are the specialists in anesthesiologists and CRNA recruitment. If you’re looking for support staff, go to Monster.com. If you are looking for healthcare specialists, you’ll have to go to a specialized recruiter.
